Driving home yesterday, the sun was capturing my attention, and as I followed the sun, there were multiple opportunities to capture its beauty reflecting on the snow.

I could see how the snow was sparkling on the ground like crystal, so I dropped the camera frame lower to try to focus on that. But unfortunately, the focus was blurry and did not show the refraction of light I was hoping for at the speed the car was going.

This blurriness reminds me of Peter’s experience that I referenced yesterday. In Matthew 14:30 “Peter saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, ‘You of little faith, why did you doubt?'” Peter had begun well, he obeyed Jesus’ command to “Come”. “Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. But”…”
When he moved his eyes from Jesus to the circumstances below, he disconntected himself from the power source.
Streams excerpt 1/27/2026: “There is a natural law in sin and sickness, and if we just let ourselves go and sink into the trend of circumstances, we shall go down and sink under the power of the temptor. But there is another law of spiritual life…to which we can rise, and through which we can counterpoise and overcome the other law.” “But to do this requires real spiritual energy and fixed purpose and a settled posture and habit of faith…as when we use the power in (a) factory. We must turn on the belt and keep it on. The power is there, but we must keep the connection…There is a spiritual law of choosing, believing, abiding, and holding steady in our walk with God, which is essential to the working of the Holy Ghost either in our sanctification or healing.”
So I need to see how critical it is to stay connected to the power source.
Where is my stare?
I have an image of an infant who is hungry and waiting for its next meal. How its gaze is fixed on its mother in the waiting! To look at those distressed but hopeful eyes, the intensity and focus is something to emulate. We need to have intensity in our gaze at You, Jesus. Because You are faithful, never fail me, I can have confidence while I wait. If I need You, You will immediately reach out Your hand and catch me out of the waves.
